'Show Off' Day

With the hot summer weather finally arriving it’s certainly the best time to show off your best wares. The T.A.S.K. people have certainly taken this concept to heart as they once again gear up for their annual “Show off” day, on Saturday 3rd March, at the spinal unit 30 Bairds Road Otara, between the hours of 10am – 3pm.
This is always a very worthwhile event to attend with exhibitors occupying every available space, displaying their latest technology. Of particular interest this year are the people from Rexibionics who will demonstrate their breakthrough technology that aids the walking process, by the fitting of mechanical limbs.
As per usual people can listen to live music and munch on some food while strolling around the various stalls and exhibitions.

Mouth painting exponents will astonish you with their creativity and the mobility dogs will amaze with their versatility. Did you know they can even pick up small items like safety pins?
Always a highlight of the day is the wheelchair obstacle racing followed by celebrity wheelchair basketball and rugby.
Sports teams like the Auckland Rugby Blues come to challenge the wheelblacks and their associates for a hard tussle of rugby on wheels. At times the game is very competitive and initially there is more than a hint of fear in the visitor’s faces as they confront clashes of steel. However as time passes concerns turn into wide grins and raucous laughter.
At time of writing its unsure who is up for the challenge this year, but entertainment is assured.
So come along and have a fun day out.
