Unforgettable Journeys

Tickets are selling like hot cakes for the Interacting Disability Arts theatre production “Journeys” Friday 4th June 7pm and Sat 5th June 7pm. Friday’s afternoon session has already sold out.

In association with IRIS and the Cerebral Palsy Society, the group that gave us “The World in Focus,” performed as part of the Mau Festival in 2009, is back on stage. This time the performers explore their own experiences of journeys in all its forms – real, imagined, internal and in life.

Who could forget last year’s performance featuring the grace of Marie Henderson, the edginess of Damon Hini’s love of fire and fire engines, the down to earth experiences of Lynette Loye in the family grocery store and the strong piece of dialogue by Yung Chen who commanded the stage by his “don’t under estimate me” proclamation.

The back stage crew is strong as well with Paula Crimmons directing the production and also arranging the original music, Sam Benge is the musical director, Linda Parker is the flying dance teacher and choreographer and Aaron Adams is in charge of sound.

With original music composed by the group, flying dance and art from Spark studio, this promises to be another intriguing and moving piece of theatre.
