It was funky hat time at the Latimer
hotel in Christchurch, last Sunday (19th July). The southern members
of the Society certainly entered into the spirit of the head warmers
competition as they enjoyed their annual mid winter lunch. Of course
there was no surprise to find out the winning head gear belonged
to Michael Yeatman. Well, he is that kind of guy.
Members manager Janet Chapman returned mid week from her mainland
excursions, enthusing over Cantabrian hospitality. |

| “Everyone had a
great time at the lunch. The staff was excellent, the food delicious
and everyone is looking forward to the Christmas function at the
end of the year, said Janet.
She was accompanied at the lunch by the president of the CP Society
Karl Sangster and his wife Lon.
“We all enjoyed the experience and we all emphasised the advantages
of utilizing the society’s programs, said Lon.
Once again Brian Ringrose did a great job in entertaining the diners,
with guitar in hand and Rock’n Roll at his finger tips.
Prize winners such as Mel Berry and Brittany Graham became the proud
owners of Whitcoulls , Farmers and “getoutThere” vouchers.
Other prizes included glass coasters and dinner for two, back at
the Latimer hotel.
Some would say, the person who won Janet’s funky hat was the
luckiest winner of the night!!!
“Keep an eye out for the Christchurch Christmas function date,
where we are expecting an even bigger turn out of membership, said
Janet.
