Earlier, diners celebrated the launch
of Allison Franklin’s, very readable, autobiography “The
Alli Way of Life.” In her introductory speech, Allison expressed
appreciation of the support given to her by the Cerebral Palsy
society, who provided the grant that funded the first 250 copies
of her book . She also revealed the motivation behind the autobiography.
She wanted to give hope for the future to parents with young disabled
children, to inspire young adults with disabilities to “have
ago” when opportunities come their way and to show people
who have little or no experience of disability, that “we”
are real people who have real lives and quality ones at that!
Allison admitted that she was in danger of shocking a few little
old ladies at her church when her book exposed the partying side
of her nature and a few of her relationships.
“I actually sold about 40 copies at church, so some of those
little old ladies who have read it, now look at me with a whole
new level of respect,” said Allison.

| Of course Santa was not to be out done as he
arrived with messages of good will and presents for the kids.
The lunch was peppered throughout with interesting people, such
as Allison the inspiring speaker, Santa and Christmas fairies.
It was definitely an entertaining afternoon.
